Into April we go …

This is the time of year where many parents, coaches and kids are in far-flung locales — beaches, museums, amusement parks etc. … Temps are rising and long time LPPLL watchers spot the rare “pool player” in all his spring plumage, roaming in his natural habitat of outfields and bottom-of-the-orders. The beginning of April marks the month-and-a-half sprint to the end. Buckle up.

Tri-Tip Tuesday … Come Get It!

Baseball. Dooley. Snack Shack. 70 degrees. TRI-TIP! That’s right, Tuesday, March 27th is Tri-Tip Tuesday at Dooley. The AAA A’s have the Snack Shack and they’re rocking Tri-Tip sandwiches with a small side of salad. Come one, come all. Watch the AAA A’s face off against the Orioles on Dooley 2. Eat some tri-tip … watch some ball. It’s all good.

Humdingers & Sunshine Coming

Lots of great ballgames at the yard on Saturday. … Nice to see the T-ballers and Rookie league ballers for the breakfast games. They gave way to the Majors Red Sox walking off the Rays in dramatic fashion. The Majors Dodgers and undefeated Nationals treated all to an authentic pitching duel (won by the Nats). The shorthanded Majors Yanks got their first W against the Giants. Finally, the Majors Braves capped off Dooley 1 action by taking down the ‘Stros 5-3 to remain undefeated.

Over on Dooley 2, fans were treated to three AAA donnybrooks. The AAA Orioles took down the Yanks, 7-6. The Cubs racked up 14 runs in taking down the Giants and the A’s came from behind to beat the Red Sox, 6-5.

It’s all sunshine for next week and baseball through Thursday before the league takes a break for Easter weekend. Stay tuned for more exciting action.

Saturday baseball …

There’s a full slate of games Saturday at Dooley starting at 9:45 a.m. The grill will be going all day, so come get your snack shack fix. Dooley 1 will feature 4 Majors games:

  • Rays @ Red Sox — 9:45 a.m.
  • Yankees @ Giants — 12:15 p.m.
  • Dodgers @ National — 2:45 p.m.
  • Astros @ Braves — 5:15 p.m.

Dooley 2 will feature 3 AAA games:

  • Yankees @ Orioles — 11 a.m.
  • Giants @ Cubs — 1:30 p.m.
  • A’s @ Red Sox — 4 p.m.

Thursday: Waiting for baseball …

We’re all hoping this weather blows through so we can hit the yard. Tonight at Dooley the Majors Nats square off against the Yanks on Dooley 1, while the AAA Dodgers play the Cubs on Dooley 2. Watch your email inboxes for notifications and put some good vibes out there for ball.

Wednesday Rainouts

Sad trombone. No games tonight. Practice fields closed. All Dooley shifts (snack shack, manager on duty) cancelled. Sigh.

Check back tomorrow for updates for tomorrow’s games and practices.
